Proudly Presents
When playground king Billy Bard catches a spy from rival Canterbury Elementary, he shares the legendary Stratford “playground tragedies” as a warning. Through hilarious retellings inspired by Julius Caesar, King Lear, and Macbeth, Billy reveals a history of safety-patrol coups, slide-side civil wars, and allergy-kid prophecies. The message is clear: Stratford’s playground isn’t just ruled—it’s epic, and not to be messed with. A playful, fast-paced comedy about imagination, rivalry, and the high drama of recess.

In Billy Bard and the Playground Tragedies, the students of Stratford discover that a playground can be many things. It is a place for courage, creativity, rivalry, and the kind of epic imagination that turns recess into a grand adventure. At CA, our own play spaces play a similar role. They support confidence, social skills, and daily movement for every student.
We are beginning work on a redesigned playground that better meets the needs of our community. It will be a space that encourages play, imagination, and connection for all learners.
